It goes without saying, Academy Award winner Rami Malek is a big ol’ (clumsy and awkward) sweetie pie. There was that one time he got completely ignored – on stage – by Nicole Kidman at the Golden Globes and that other time he fell right off the stage after receiving his Oscar for Best Actor. The people simply love the man but his latest viral moment is just a tad unsettling.

Rami Malek: I’m a fan is a promotional video for hotel chain Mandarin Oriental. The video originally came out last month but with his Oscar nod and ability to win at life, I’m a fan is doing the rounds again. It sounds innocent enough but in sixty seconds, Malek somehow goes from Oscar Winner to terrifying murderer. There’s no music in the video and as the camera pans closer and closer to Malek’s face, he slowly lists a bunch of things he likes.
“I’m a fan of Freddie Mercury and Queen,” he says first. “I’m a fan of my mum, she’s got my back. I’m a fan of chamomile tea…” Malek trails off in a completely normal way.
Do enjoy.

These tweets pretty much sum up the internet’s reaction to this accidentally creepy video.

Never related to something less than Rami Malek saying he’s “a fan of looking sharp, regardless of the occasion.”

Speaking of chaotic evil energy, the Bohemian Rhapsody star is apparently *this close* to playing the villain in Bond 25.
The next chapter in the 007 franchise will star Daniel Craig and will be helmed by True Detective season one director Cary Joji Fukunaga. His other credits include Netflix‘s critically acclaimed Beast of No Nation, the 2011 Jane Eyre, and Maniac so expect wonderful things.
Bond 25 is slated for release 2020.
