After months of speculation, Rami Malek been confirmed as the big baddie in the 25th James Bond film.

Malek’s involvement was revealed during a big Bond conference live streamed from Jamaica. While much of the cast spoke from the Caribbean island, the Bohemian Rhapsody star used a video link from New York to look menacing as hell:

Wait, shit, wrong video. Here’s his actual announcement, where Malek said “I promise you all I will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this, his 25th outing.”

Malek will be joined by Daniel Craig as the titular traumatised alcoholic. A slew of other recent Bond favourites will also return: Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, and the excellent Jeffrey Wright are coming back for the newie.

There are a fair few newcomers, too. Ana de Armas, Billy Magnussen, Lashana Lynch, David Dencik, and Dali Benssalah will come along for the ride. Here’s Benssalah’s little video, which we’re sure that doesn’t mean anything in regards to the future of the Bond franchise, so sir:

His vid adds another dash of intrigue to a flick which has already seen several behind-the-scenes changes; original director Danny Boyle noped out of the project and was replaced by Cary Joji Fukunaga, and it wasn’t that long ago that Craig was convinced he’d never represent 007 again.

The currently unnamed film is slated to show the kidnapping of a renowned scientist (presumably orchestrated by Malek’s character) drag Bond out of semi-retirement to dome some more hapless thugs. It’s poised for release in April next year.
