Point Break 2: Waves, Pirates And Politics

A shirtless Patrick Swayze defending Baby and swiveling his hips like a Spanish youth in Dirty Dancing is a truly incredible thing, but there is just something about Point Break that gets you right there.

Maybe it’s just because of the allure of Swayze sans-shirt – but I think it’s even more than that…

Point Break is Keanu Reeves doing what he does best: Keanu Reeves.
Point Break is Garry Busey’s star turn as meatball-sub-ordering federal agent Pappas and a lifetime of thinking he is actually Nick Nolte.
Point Break is W. Peter Liff’s remarkable screenplay which includes such memorable lines as:
“Back off Warchild. Seriously”;
“You can’t just call a time out and paddle back in”;
and
“It’s death on a stick out there”.

And, of course, Point Break is the eternal search for that perfect wave.

What a thrill, then, knowing that Point Break 2 is currently in development and according to the synopsis it sounds like it will be up there with Speed 2:

Synopsis
When Billy Dalton, military special ops and star surfer is disqualified from the pro-surfing tour, he takes off for the coast of Bali looking for the perfect wave. Whilst there, he is recruited by a private security force who are trying to find a gang known as The Bush Administration, surfing outlaws and modern day pirates who work like “The Ex-Presidents”, a bank robbing crew from Malibu from 20 years earlier.

Woo!
