PewDiePie has put his foot in it yet again, with the YouTube star deleting and apologising for a Tweet that he shared, mocking Demi Lovato‘s recent drug overdose.

The 28-year-old, otherwise known as Felix Kjellberg, recently posted a meme that shows Demi Lovato asking her mum for money to buy a burger before spending it on heroin instead.
Quite apart from it just being a bit shit, the meme angered many Lovato fans, who accused him of making light of her struggles with addiction and mental health.
A short time later, PewDiePie scrubbed the Tweet from his timeline, saying that he “didn’t fully know about the situation” and apologising for being “insensitive.”

He then shared a different meme about his long history of causing controversies online:

Last year, Kjellberg was booted from a Disney-owned content production company after making a number of anti-Semitic jokes. Several months later, he was called out and subsequently apologised for his use of racial slurs in a live stream.
Back in 2016, he was temporarily kicked off Twitter after he made a joke about joining ISIS, and that same year, he got into a fight with his “prejudiced piece of shit” landlord and was ultimately evicted from his apartment over noise complaints.
