While Demi hasn’t spoken publicly since her initial Instagram post about the incident, her mother recently shed some light on how the singer is doing.

“I can honestly say today that she is doing really well. She’s happy, she’s healthy,” Dianna De La Garza said in an interview with NewsMax TV.

“She’s working on her sobriety and she’s getting the help she needs, and that in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family.”

Lovato was hospitalised on July 24 after an apparent drug overdose.

According to E! Newsthe incident was a “huge wake-up call” for the singer.

“She slipped up and thought she could handle it. This is obviously a huge wake-up call,” a source told the publication.

“Demi doesn’t want to die and she’s very grateful to be alive. She will be leaving the hospital and heading straight to rehab. Her family has been by her side supporting her and is getting her the help she needs.”
