Paleo Blogger Charlotte Carr Is Doing Voiceovers For Fast Food Commercials

Charlotte Carr, health food blogger, nutrition enthusiast, and owner of one somewhat damaged personal brand, recently made headlines when her Paleo-for-kids book Bubba Yum Yumwas pulled from sale
The book, co-authored with MKR judge and fellow Paleo lover Pete Evans, was shelved by publishers when it emerged that a key recipe was potentially deadly for infants.
The recipe in question, for a DIY, bone broth-based baby formula, was found to contain more than 10 times the maximum daily intake of vitamin A for infants, and could literally kill one.
Earlier today, Carr suffered further embarrassment when News Limited ran a piece revealing that she been making money on the side doing voiceovers for brands like KFC, Diet Coke and Cadbury.
Now, don’t get us wrong, we love fast food around these parts, and we’re not ashamed to admit it – anyone who has followed our rolling coverage of the Double Down burger, otherwise known as KFC‘s most delicious mistake, would know as much.
Likewise, we do not begrudge anybody the right to make a buck or two doing voiceover work in fast food commercials.
That said, if the person selling you delicious, greasy fast food is also trying to convince you that feeding bone and chicken liver broth to your motherfucking baby is a sound and sensible idea, then we’re going to have a bit of a problem.
Carr’s Bubba Yum Yum site describes her as having a “focus on fresh and organic produce” with “no additives” and “no numbers”, and perhaps not surprisingly, mentions nothing about delicious chicken nuggets and Cherry Ripes.
Given her stance on healthy eating, this is rather like if we found out that Sia was moonlighting as a TMZ photographer, or Cate Blanchett was doing commercials for the Liberal Party: not on brand, and not a particularly good look.
Carr and her management have thus far declined to comment.
