Our Cate And The Other Winners At The 2014 Golden Globes

The 2014 Golden Globes have wrapped, which means that somewhere in Hollywood Jennifer Lawrence is drinking champagne out of somebody’s shoe and Matthew McConaughey is doling out shirtless high fives (one would hope).

The night featured several predicted wins: McConaughey and his Dallas Buyers Club co-star Jared Leto both took home statuettes, as expected, for their multidimensional and transformative performances that put them as the male actors to beat this Award Season. Queen of Serene Cate Blanchett scored for her face-breakingly anguished performance in the latest Woody Allen joint Blue Jasmine – as well as on the Globes’ Red Carpet.

It was terrific to see Breaking Bad take home a couple of gongs for the series swan song, including one for a very deserving Bryan Cranston. Mad Men regular Elisabeth Moss won for her much lesser known role in the Kiwi production Top Of The Lake; while the ceremony’s co-anchor Amy Poehler took a brief time out from slaying hosting duties to accept the Globe for Best Performance By An Actress In A TV Series – Comedy Or Musical. It was terrific to see her finally get recognition for her work in Parks & Recreation as Leslie Knope, the most charming government representative on television; and because 10 out of every 10 people fucking love Amy Poehler.
