No wonder Cate Blanchett‘s Golden Globes hair was so big – it was full of the secret that she might be joining the Marvel cinematic universe, specifically the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.
There have been rumours flying around about Blanchett’s potential involvement in the film for a while, and this week, those rumours were given a major boost by Mark Ruffalo.
During a recent interview, Ruffalo – otherwise known as The Incredible Hulk – let slip that Blanchett is “circling” the film, and not only that, but her role is likely to be a villain. He told Entertainment Tonight:
“I’m so thrilled. I saw her at the Governors’ banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, ‘Please, please, please make this work!’ She’s just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting.”
If it ends up happening, fans speculate that Blanchett will play Hela or The Enchantress, two prominent Thor villains. Let’s all cross our fingers really hard and hope this works out.
