Cate Blanchett To Guest On Family Guy

Though her big screen credentials include two Oscars (from four nominations), two Golden Globes, two SAGs, two BAFTAs and a over a decade’s worth of praise, Cate Blanchett hasn’t nabbed a television role since she starred in 1995 miniseries Bordertown alongside Hugo Weaving. This will change next year as Blanchett returns to television, this time in animated form, for a guest spot alongside the dysfunctional Griffin family in an episode of Family Guy. Worlds. Colliding.

Due to air during Fox’s spring season next year, it is yet to be revealed what sort of character Blanchett will play – or if she’ll be playing herself – but it’ll be amusing to see how The Hobbit/Benjamin Button actor deploys her simultaneously soothing/chilling non-regional diction and obvious love of taking the piss.
