Cate Blanchett, Alan Rickman Headline Inaugural Sydney Festival, “Spectrum Now”

Sydney is set to add another festival to its already-decent oeuvre, with Fairfax launching the program for “Spectrum Now” – the inaugural arts and culture festival will be held in Sydney this March, led by creative director Richard Roxburgh.

Despite having had us well and truly on board with the idea at “Cate Blanchett”, we’ll indulge you with the remaining, irrelevant-in-the-shadow-of-Cate formalities.

‘Spectrum Now’ will be held from March 11 – 29, featuring dozens of live music, theatre, film and food: it will be peak Sydney chic and it will inevitably end up on your instagram, hashtags-a-blazing. Cate Blanchett will speak alongside her husband Andrew Upton as well as other creative couples such as Richard Glover and Debra Oswald, at a event called “Pillow Talk”.

Royalty will literally be in our presence as Alan Rickman is set to present his period drama, ‘A Little Chaos‘. “Just to be in Sydney again will be wonderful. It has been way too long,” Rickman told SMH.

More details on Spectrum Now can be found over at their website, this-a-way.
