Now that we’ve finally regained sanity/hearing following the announcement of Oprah’s trip Down Under, the undisputed Queen of daytime television is now expected to host multiple Opera House shows come December.
According to The Daily Telegraph: “Emails are expected to be soon sent to Australians who have expressed interest in attending the show, inviting them and one guest to enter a lottery for tickets to one of the two shows.”
The multiple Opera House shows as well as another at an undisclosed outback location will take place in mid December. A most fitting end to Winfrey’s 25 season reign of talk show hosting and TV kingdom ruling, that’s punctuated, we’re hoping, with an Akubra atop her head.
All this aside, Tourism Australia and the NSW State Government have acknowledged the monumental impact that Winfrey’s presence will have on local tourism. If she can make them love Tom Cruise, she can make them love Australia. Look busy people.
