An Animated Spice Girls Movie Is Coming And Everyone, Even Posh, Is On Board

Are you sitting down? Are all valuables out of your hands? No sharp edges in sight? Great, because we’re about to give you some spicy news that’s bound to send you into an uncontrollable, quivering mess.

A Spice Girls animated film is in the works over at Paramount and – yes – Baby, Posh, Sporty, Scary and Ginger are all on board. Praise be this blessed day.

The animated flick, already set for a 2020 release, will be a superhero movie, with each queen apparently portraying a superhero reminiscent of their respective Spice persona, alongside their own unique girl power. “They are very involved,” Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria told The Hollywood Reporterspeaking about the band’s role in creating the new project.

The Hollywood Reporter also confirmed the animated production will be written by powerhouse duo Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith (both screenwriters for 10 Things I Hate About You, Legally Blonde and She’s the Man), with Simon Fuller (Spice World, So You Think You Can Dance) jumping in as producer. It seems like we can expect some new tunes as well as the ol’ favourites we know and love. Froth.

Victoria’s absence from the Spice World 2019 tour – which kicked off last month – was obviously earth-shattering for many (not sorry for being over-dramatic), so the prospect of the girls reuniting for another group project has restored our faith in humanity once more.

Zigazig ahh.
