There are so many reasons why people adore Netflix but come Christmas, it’s loved for one thing and one thing only – incredibly shitty-good romantic Christmas films.
They’re a Christmas staple, end of story.
So when Vanessa Hudgens went and casually posted a picture of her latest project on Instagram, our hearts started beating to the tune of Jingle Bells. Why? ‘Cos it’s a Netflix movie involving a) ROYAL WEDDING and b) CHRISTMAS which roughly translates to compulsory Christmas viewing.
Not to mention we have the A Christmas Prince sequel in the works where Amber and Richard will get hitched amid a bunch of royal drama. And, that’s set for release “later this year”.

Anyway, JUST LOOK:
Guys, this film has it all:
- It’s called The Christmas Switch – like c’mon, that’s as classic as you can get.
- THERE’S A GENERIC WHITE (WITH AN EUROPEAN ACCENT) PRINCE, played by Sam Palladio. You may know Sammy boy from Nashville.
- Childhood queen Vanessa Hudgens.
- Humongous wedding cake in the background.
- Fancy old piano.
Tick, tick, bloody tick .
But just wait, because you’re about to shit yourselves with the synopsis.
As per Netflix, A Christmas Switch will tell the story of a Duchess and commoner who swap places after they discover they look exactly alike. However, shit hits the royal fan when they each fall in love with a man who doesn’t know about their true identities.
Yes, it does sound like that Barbie movie and that Selena Gomez one but we’re all still going to love it anyway.
In conclusion, we have been blessed.
An official release date hasn’t been set but I’m going to go ahead and boldly assume A Christmas Switch and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding will hit the streaming service in December.
A crossover, I want a crossover.
