Netflix’s May Release Schedule Is Here & It’s Got Comedy Out The Anoos

Praise be to the gods of streaming entertainment, because Netflix Australia‘s full list of releases for the month of May is here and, as a result, you should all probably start prepping your sides to be split.

The red ribbon brand has always fallen back on stand-up comedy as a staple of its original programming, and comedy nerds among you will be salivating at what Netflix has in store this coming month.

May 1st sees the long-awaited arrival of John Mulaney‘s new special Kid Gorgeous, filmed live at New York City’s iconic Radio City Music Hall. This is Mulaney’s first dedicated special since 2015’s The Comeback Kid, and captures the former SNL writer at the very height of his comedic powers. It’s gonna be GOOD.

Elsewhere, Netflix is casually dropping new specials from the likes of Ali Wong (a long-awaited follow-up to her shatteringly great 2015 special Baby Cobra), as well as Tig Notaro, and scrappy up-and-coming comics Steve Martin and Martin Short. Holy hell.

If stand-up isn’t your bag, however, the month of May is still stacked with good gear.

The second season of Riverdale draws to a close this month, as does the second season of Designated Survivor.

And for those of you keen on a little casual binging, seasons 9 and 10 of Project Runway arrives on May 15th, with season 8 of Archer following on May 23rd.

There’s a boatload of good flicks and documentaries and such arriving too. A little something for everyone, really. But above all else May 3rd should be in your calendars, not because Riverdale delivers a new episode that day, but because greatest sports movie of all time Little Giants arrives. Little GiantsRick Moranis and Ed O’Neal going toe-to-toe! Devon Sawa being young and adorable! The famous Annexation of Puerto Rico play!

It’s a good time to be lazy, mates.
