MEANWHILE, the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards just happened across the pond. I, for one, had completely forgotten about it, but the beautiful BTS angels just scooped up four (!!!!) awards, causing #BTSWorldDomination to trend immediately on Twitter. Such is the power of the ARMY.
It was a big night all ’round with G Flip taking home the gong for best Australian act. Love to see it!
Lady Gaga was honoured with best artist, beating out Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, and The Weeknd, while Doja Cat won best new artist over Benee, Jack Harlow, and Yungblud.
BTS, in case you were wondering, ended the night with the gongs for best song (Dynamite), best group, best fans, and best live event.
Congrats to @BTS_twt on winning the #MTVEMA Best Song for #Dynamite!! 💜✌ pic.twitter.com/WobFWylTcz

Anywho, this year’s event featured filmed performances from different locations around the world… because of the ongoing effects of the pandemic. That also meant the red carpet was a whole different affair.
(We’ll get to the pics in a sec.)
Artists and celebs in Los Angeles, for example, attended a separate event ahead of the MTV EMAs to take their red carpet pics. Then it was all cut together to make one happy, online event. You gotta do what you gotta do.
One thing’s for sure though: Little Mix absolutely killed it. The group, who also hosted the event, won the awards for best UK & Ireland act and best pop.
Okay, it’s PICS time.
Little Mix
Look ! At ! Them !
Jesy‘s out crook, by the way.
You all did that!!! 🤩 Thank you to everyone who voted for us to win Best UK & Ireland act and Best Pop 💗💗💗 Love you all Mixers @mtvema pic.twitter.com/mQwe5Z1fXv

Yungblud
Looking chaotic, as always.
I feel like this is one of those pictures where if you stare at it longer, you notice more things. I just clocked the straight jacket. Or, is Yungblud just folding his arms? I honesty do not know.
Doja Cat
Yes, Doja Cat performed Say So. Yes, she’s getting sick of it too.
im tired of say so too yall

It was still a fab performance though, and a great rendition of the absolute tune.
Alicia Keys
Alicia Keys in iso CHIC.
Anitta
I absolutely love the MTV (Europe Music) Awards because you can either pull an Alicia Keys and go more casual, or you can go full Anitta. But, like, either look completely works.
Sam Smith
An angel among us.
Look at that cheeky smile, my god.
Madison Beer
Rita Ora
Rita Ora‘s look feels like a flashback to Melbourne Cup weekend, which feels like approximately three million years ago.
Winnie Harlow
Zara Larsson
BTS
And finally, BTS, who I assume were just like, “We don’t need a backdrop”. And honestly, they don’t.
Bless.
