Matty J Pops On A Reject Shop Wig To Parody MAFS’ Bryce On Insta & The Resemblance Is Uncanny

Pretty much everyone is taking the piss out of MAFS contestant Bryce Ruthven at this point, including fellow reality star Matty J who you’ll remember from The Bachelor.

Matty J took to Instagram to mock the infamous MAFS moment where Bryce voted to ‘leave’ bride Melissa Rawson at the commitment ceremony, before crossing it out and writing ‘stay’ on his vote card instead.

In the clip, Matty J wears a Reject Shop wig as he spoofs the controversial contestant.

He also plays a production assistant who tells Bryce (played by Matty J) that he can give him a new piece of paper instead: “If you make a mistake I can get you fresh paper?”

Matty / Bryce responds: “Do you reckon I should leave or is it best to stay for this one?” to which the assistant says he can’t make that decision for him.

“It’s okay I’ll just keep this,” Bryce / Matty says, and the assistant replies: “You know Melissa is gonna see that right?”

“Oh yeah, Melissa… Nah, she’s fine,” Matty / Bryce replies, with the assistant reminding him: “All of Australia is gonna see that as well.”

But he insists, “Nah I’m good,” which is most definitely how it went down backstage on the MAFS set, I’m sure.

During the actual MAFS ep, which aired on Sunday, Bryce opened his card at the commitment ceremony and after folks were shocked at his leave / stay wording, he said: “I actually decided to leave. But then I crossed it out.”

“It was tough,’ Bryce continued. “It was hurting me to write it down. But I got to a point that… I had to cross it out and put stay, because I’m not done with this relationship.”

He added that “writing leave was to get her out of a toxic environment.”

“It was me looking after her best interests, and for once in my life not being selfish.”

An understandably upset Melissa later said during her confessional: “I had no idea that leave would even be considered. I’m still a little confused.”

MAFS continues tonight at 7:30pm on Nine.
