JoJo Gave Her Iconic Tune ‘Leave’ The Isolation Treatment To Tell Fans To Stay The Fk Home

JoJo

Friends, I come bearing a gift in the form of JoJo singing her iconic tune Leave (Get Out) revamped with lyrics about staying healthy during the coronavirus pandemic. It is a work of art.

JoJo originally uploaded the video to TikTok, but it’s since made its way onto Twitter and whatnot. JoJo, in isolation I assume, sings lyrics which encourages all her fans to stay in, use common sense, and keep exposure to a minimum.

“I never thought the corona could be such a nasty bitch,” she sings. “But now that she’s here boy all I want is for you to use common sense.”

“Stay In! Right Now!

“Do it for humanity,

“I’m deadass! About that but we will survive,

“So you gon’ learn how to cook now and practice good hygiene,

“I know you’re bored and want to fuck around but not on me.”

Incredible. And that’s not even all of it.

HOW GOOD.

Naturally, I jumped on YouTube and searched for the original song because I haven’t heard it in eons. Fun fact: Leave (Get Out) from JoJo’s first self-titled album came out in 2004. I was… seven years old. Christ. The video was uploaded to YouTube in 2010. And? It’s still a bloody banger.

91,000,000 views and counting.

JoJo is the latest celebrity in a long line who have been using their platform for good during the pandemic. Artists like Pink and John Legend have been streaming live concerts from isolation amid a string of concert and festival cancellations, the most recent being Glastonbury 2020. Big names Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande have also urged their fans to self-isolate and to take the virus seriously.

Taking to her Instagram story on Monday, Swift said she loves following her fans online but has noticed that there are still a lot of get togethers and parties happening.

“This is the time to cancel plans, actually truly isolate as much as you can, and don’t assume that because you don’t feel sick that you aren’t possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this.

“It’s a really scary time but we need to make social sacrifices right now.”
