Taylor Swift & Ariana Grande Urge Fans To Self-Isolate To Curb Spread Of COVID-19

It’s not just governments and health officials that are pushing for people to practice social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic, it’s now hit the big leagues – Taylor SwiftAriana Grande, and other celebs are urging their followers and fans to self-isolate in the face of COVID-19.

Taylor took to her Instagram this morning to tell fans that she’s seen plenty of them still going out to events and parties, and expressed her worry that things aren’t being taken seriously about the world’s health.

“This is the time to cancel plans, actually truly isolate as much as you can,” she wrote.

“Don’t assume that just because you don’t feel sick that you aren’t possibly passing something on to someone elderly and vulnerable to this.”

Ariana shared the same sentiments over on her Twitter, using her celebrity platform to tell her 72 million followers to not “turn a blind eye” to the ongoing pandemic.

She went on to say that she didn’t mean to disrespect anyone that needs to leave the house and be in public to make money to survive, and also encouraged her followers to contact their local senators to support the new Coronavirus Relief act.

Meanwhile, normally-faved Chrissy Teigen felt the heat with a tweet that she admitted was “tone deaf”, in which she said she was going to order in clam chowder across the country from Boston.

It immediately got blasted for being negligent about delivery workers’ health, and clearly flippant about those who are struggling to buy food from the shops let alone having soup shipped across the country to satisfy a craving.

Chrissy has since deleted the tweet (probably for the best) and updated her stance on ordering soup.

Fingers crossed more celebs take Taylor Swift & Ari’s lead on telling fans to self-isolate, because this is the time when they can use their celebrity for good, let’s be honest.
