Prepare To Lose Your Shit At This Couple’s Terrifyingly Brilliant House Of Horrors

The Halloween trend has well and truly possessed Australia in recent years. You might love it, you might hate it, but you’d bloody well better get used to it, especially if you happen to pass by Pandora Cresent in Pacific Pines on the Gold Coast.

The terrifyingly brilliant home has gone viral for its epic transformation from ordinary suburban home to house of horrors, otherwise known as Panic on Pandora.

The homeowners, known to locals as Mr and Mrs Strappleberry, were inspired by the Neiobolt Wellhouse from Stephen King’s IT remake.

“We wanted to make something really cool with lots of impact visually, so we planned and engineered for months creating it,” the homeowners told us.

“We laugh that it is always bigger in person than the numbers on a page. Every single little piece is handmade, including every roof tile cut and stapled.”

The entire house takes months to plan and a total of one month of afternoon and weekend construction to bring to fruition.

“Building something that looks dilapidated but is safe is harder than it looks,” they said.

Amazingly, the entire thing is built entirely by the couple who own the home.

“Things are always cheaper when you DIY, but not as expensive as people imagine,” they revealed.

“It’s just the personal time and labour that is costly, but Mrs Strappleberry and I are dedicated.”

With so much spooky energy in one place, surely something ~paranormal~ must’ve gone down, right?

Well according to Mr and Mrs Strappleberry, “the only walking dead in our house lately has been us.”

“It’s very consuming mentally and emotionally to do this much, long hours and minimal sleep coming up to Halloween, but completely worth it for the smiling faces and impact on the community.”

If you’re in the area and feel like popping in but are worried about wetting your pants, don’t be alarmed ‘coz the pair say most people haven’t been too frightened, minus a few people with a fear of creepy crawlies.

“Most people love it,” they said. “A few arachnophobes are terrified of our 10ft spider ‘Barry’ but most are just amazed and excited.”
