Former PM Kevin Rudd may have lost the country’s top job but at least he still knows how to be a proper Aussie.
The Foregin Minister apparently found himself in hot water today when he tried to board an aeroplane to New York with Vegemite in his cabin baggage.
As any backpacker or businessman will know, Vegemite freaks foreigners out because they can’t decide whether it’s a liquid or a solid and typically deal with the problem by confiscating it. If it’s packed into your suitcase, no problem.
Vegemite and America just don’t seem to go well together. Current PM Julia Gillard attempted to feed some of the golden black stuff to Barack Obama on her last visit to The States, which he described as ‘horrible’.
That’s him off the Christmas card list.
