Elisabeth Moss’ Emmys Outfit Hid A Secret ‘Fuck You’ To The Patriarchy

Yesterday’s Emmy Awards ceremony brought with it the usual amount of subtle and overt political statements one expects from a huge public event in 2017, but one that flew under the radar has just come to light today courtesy of ‘The Handmaids Tale‘ star Elisabeth Moss and a sneaky little gesture hidden in her outfit.

Looking FRESH TO DEATH in a stunner of a champagne pink dress designed by Karla Welsh, the actress who took out the gong for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, was in fact also wearing a discreet feminist message, unbeknownst to the hordes of photographers and commenters following her every move.

As revealed on the designer’s Instagram over night, Moss had inscribed a pair of words on the bottom of her heels, one on each sole, summarising her feelings towards the patriarchy, and in particular the current largest benefactor of said patriarchy, Donald Trump.

Whilst Karla only posted a pic of one of the shoes, it’s not hard to discern what the other word was.

“Fuck”.

It definitely said “Fuck”, you guys.

Sure it wasn’t the most striking way to send a message, but I like to think it was more for Moss herself, to walk around the glitzy bourgeoisie of a Hollywood awards show, fully in the knowledge she’s still sticking to her ideals as part of the resistance to fetid cheeto monster Trump.

That or the other shoe had nothing on it and Moss is simply a huge fan of repelling mosquitoes.

Could be either tbh.
