It’s been a full 13 years since Pixar released enduring fan favourite superhero flick The Incredibles. Of course, it feels a lot longer…
A helluva lot longer.
But forget the last 84 13 years of languishing, Incredibles-less, because here, FINALLY, is proof that we’re in for a sequel to the mid-century modern styled family flick.
According to the just-released trailer, it seems like the sequel will pick up exactly where we left off last time: as baby Jack-Jack had just been revealed to have a whole bunch of superpowers, rather than the exactly zero the family thought that he had.
All the people responsible for the excellentness of the original are back on board for the sequel, including Brad Bird as the director (and hopefully the voice of Edna Mode) and the entire original cast.
The Incredibles 2 is said to focus on Helen Parr, aka Elastigirl, who will finally be rewarded for all those years of boring superpowered housewife BS with her very own adventure. Meanwhile, Bob Parr / Mr Incredible is going to stay at home and deal with the many intricacies of raising an extremely volatile superbaby.
Are you stoked? I am STOKED. So are a number of (kinda rabid) fans, who are getting, well, a bit territorial about the new flick.
