Who would have thought that tonight’s episode of ‘My Kitchen Rules‘ would enter the pantheon of history’s great cheating scandals: Sienna and Jude, Prince Charles and Camilla, Tiger Woods and a whole bunch of people, and, now, Alyse and Matt.

‘MKR‘ might seem like a lawless hell of arguments, tears and dishes of wildly varying qualities, but, as we’ve discovered tonight, it has one golden rule: you’ve got to make your own fucking curry paste.

Matt and Alyse learnt this the hard way, getting grilled over their choice to use it from a jar:

Is it OK to use tinned tomatoes if you didn’t tin them yourself? Is it OK to use butter that you personally didn’t squeeze out of a cow and churn? Is it OK to serve your food on plates that you didn’t put into spin on a pottery wheel and kiln fire? Where does it end? At curry paste, apparently.
