Blake Lively Hits Back At Blogger Who Commented On Her Penchant For Power Suits

You may have noticed that queen Blake Lively has been rocking a whole lotta power suits lately to promote her new film A Simple Favour but I mean, so has Henry Cavill and Antoni Porowski and no one’s really commented on that, have they?

Why? Because they’re men.

Well, Blake sees the double-standard being promoted by fashion blogs and she’s taken to Instagram to call them out.

Fash Insta @fashion_critic_ recently shared a photo of Blake wearing a custom light pink three-piece suit from Ralph Lauren Collection and captioned it:

“It’s suit number 1,356 for Blake Lively’s promotion of ‘A Simple Favor’. This time custom pink Ralph Lauren Collection.”

After spotting the sarcastic comment, Lively clapped back with the following statement:

“Would you note a man wearing lots of suits during a promo tour? So why can’t a woman? Just sayinnnn. No double standards ladies.”

The blogger then explained that she meant no harm in her caption.

“You know I love you, and I personally have really enjoyed this tour. If you look at my website, I have said that I have admired your total commitment to rocking suits during this promo tour. That number was just an attempt at humour. I’m sorry it didn’t translate. Looking forward to the Paris premiere.”

Blake went on to say that she has “nothing but love” for the blogger and understands that her style is polarising.

“Nothing but love…I don’t expect everyone to like it. Fashion that creates a difference of opinions is the fun part. I totally understand the missed humour. I do the same thing sometimes. Just lookin’ to encourage women to do what men do without being teased for it. ???????? Yes, even in a space as material as fashion. It all starts somewhere…♥️♥️ and everyone’s voice counts.”
