In Some Big, Mr. Big News Chris Noth Will Not Be Returning For The Sex And The City Reboot

I’ve got some big, Big news. Big (aka John if you’ve seen the final ep) won’t be returning for the Sex and the City reboot, so what’s the bloody point of watching now?

According to Page Six, Chris Noth will not be reprising his role as Mr. Big in the upcoming Sex and the City reboot. That means that Carrie Bradshaw and Big must no longer be together, after trying to make their marriage work at the end of the second film.

Now I know Big was an extremely problematic character. But he was a character that we undeniably loved to hate. How can we watch SATC without yelling at Big from the comfort of our living room while holding a glass of red??? Ok, maybe that’s just me. BUT I NEED THE DRAMA. Otherwise I might look for it in my personal life, which again, is a BIG mistake.

Page Six were also told that David Eigenberg who played Steve Brady would not be returning. NO STEVE?!? NO STEVE?!?! Now this is really some devastating news.

With no Steve, no Big and no Samantha, I’m struggling to see how this reboot will even work. Steve and Samantha in particular didn’t let the opinions of other people bog them down, which is why they were such great characters.

If it’s just Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte who are well into their 50s now, they’ll just be complaining the whole time. And do I dare say it, are also probably Republicans now.

Oh yeah and coronavirus will feature in this spin-off, which I kind of hate. I binge watched all of SATC during the Melbourne lockdown to forget about COVID. It was my happy place. Now my happy place will SUCK.

“[Covid-19 will] obviously be part of the storyline, because that’s the city [these characters] live in. And how has that changed relationships once friends disappear? I have great faith that the writers are going to examine it all,” Sarah Jessica Parker told Vanity Fair.

Look, as long as Jack Berger doesn’t make an appearance I’ll be happy. Fuck that guy and his damn sticky note.
