Big Brother Reveals New Logo and Announces Casting Call Out For 2012

Big Brother, that televised social experiment that turkey slapped a nation into submission while enraging and entertaining us in the process, has once again put out that fateful call for narcissists Australia-wide to come out of the woodwork and into our living rooms.

With a new host in Sonia Kruger, a new house under construction at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast – and hopefully a revamped format – comes a new logo and boy is this one a doozy/snoozy. If this is any indication of what’s in store for the new series then consider your hopes for a revitalised show dashed. It’s not good – something about it screams “FAKE TAN! LOW PRODUCTION VALUES! HOLD MY HAIR BACK!” So everything we enjoyed the first time around.

Speaking of bronze, Kruger – whose job it will be to fill the shoes of previous hosts including Gretel Killeen and Kyle and Jackie O – said: “Big Brother 2012 is a return to all that is good about the format – a mix of big event television, totally watchable Australians, engaging conversation and most importantly, humour. BB 2012 will focus on what made the show most successful – people we simply love to watch.”

If anything, it’ll be interesting to see how BB12 adapts to the #socialmedias, which – as far as I’m aware of – were limited to myspace and livejournal last time around. I predict Q&A style live feeds (#itstimetogo trending on Sunday night for the first couple of weeks), and a 24hr livestream of the hot tub on YouTube. Riveting stuff.
