Batten Down The Hatches, ‘Sharknado’ Sequel Is Coming This July

It’s official. Sharknado 2: The Second One is coming, with stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid confirmed to start filming next month.

The glorious soul who decided to amalgamate both ‘shark’ and ‘tornado’ into the one film realised that the combination was so damn good they had to make another one. Sharknado 2 will team the original writer Thunder Levin with director Anthony Ferrante and will no-doubt be another cinematic masterpiece.

The natural disaster to end all natural disasters this time will strike in New York, and will bring Los Angeles survivors Fin (Ziering) and April (Reid) along with it. Presumably harrowed by their first experience with a Sharknado, Fin and April moved to New York to escape that dark chapter of their lives. Little did they know the East coast of America is also prone to strong winds, heavy rain and flying sharks.

Rumour has it that the sequel will be so good it will transcend the word ‘plot’. As long as it has more of this, we’re alright…

Fingers crossed this is the start of a beautiful franchise to rival Scream or The Fast And The Furious. In a few years time we’ll be able to sit back, watch Sharknado 7: I Know What You Did Last Sharknado and realise we’ve basically reached a higher level of humanity.

Paul Bales, COO of the Asylum, the studio and genius minds behind Sharknado, had this to say about the sequel:

“Can lighting strike twice? I don’t know, but it’s a scientific fact that you’re more likely to be killed by lightning than by a shark. This film will have lighting and sharks, so that’s got to count for something.”

Just peed a little bit with excitement. How embarrassing.
