Australian Survivor Just Crowned Its 2nd Ever Winner In A Doozy Of A Finale

Australian Survivor finished up its second season tonight (yes, second, we ignore the garbage 2002 version remember?) with host and uber-daddy Jonathan LaPaglia crowning its sole survivor after 55 days in the Samoan jungle.

Beating out 24 other contestants, a whole bunch of twists and turns and an obscene amount of product placement, Jericho received the most votes in the final tribal council, over runner-up Tara, taking out the title of Sole Survivor and the $500,000 prize.

The finale kicked off with a repeat of last year’s final three immunity challenge, hoisting the exhausted, starving finalists on teeny tiny wooden poles and seeing how long it takes for their bodies to crumble. The answer was 5 and a quarter hours.

Immune from the vote, pocket-rocket Jericho quickly took out Peter, leaving himself and Tara for the final tribal where the most recent outcasts got the chance to vote for the winner, which was revealed for the first time in Aus in a live studio broadcast.

A third season of Australian Survivor has not be confirmed, probably due in part to the fact Channel Ten is up shit creek financially.

Fingers crossed we get another season of Daddy LaPaglia’s bristling muscles.
