All Hail Quaran-Tina Arena, Who Is Giving A Series Of Coronavirus-Related Support Chats On IG

If it wasn’t already abundantly clear that Tina Arena is a national treasure, let me reiterate – Tina Arena is a national fucking treasure. The “Chains” chanteuse (now self-titled ‘Quaran-Tina Arena’) is hosting a series of coronavirus-related support chats on IG live while in self-isolation.

For her second IG live this morning, Quaran-Tina (I’m sorry, but I’ll keep saying Quaran-Tina because it’s so damn fun) called her Young Talent Time mentor – and “showbiz dad” – Johnny Young to talk about the current state of affairs, both in Australia and overseas.

The duo talked about the current lockdowns in France and Italy. “They’ll rise to the challenge,” said Quaran-Tina, who has many family and friends over there.

The pair also talked about the importance of the creative industries amid the pandemic. “Art is the gatekeeper of any society, whatever form it comes in,” Quaran-Tina said. “It’s going to play a big, big role. That’s why it super important at the moment that the government really does everything that they can to help the artistic community, because they’re going to be a crucial part of everybody’s mental health and their healing, moving forward.” Tea.

Our queen provided hope that, albeit testing, these times will inevitably make our nation stronger: “Australia is pretty consumerist-based… I have a lot of faith that Australians will take this opportunity to really question things very, very seriously.”

She finished the IG live session with an address to both her French and Italian fanbases. And, needless to say, we absolutely frothed it.

Quaran-Tina then posted a video to her grid, imploring us to stay tuned and to comment our suggestions as to who she should chat with next. Dannii Minogue then chimed in, commenting “Me me me please.”

I cannot stress this enough – we need a Tina and Dannii collaboration to get us through self-isolation.

Queens. The lot of ’em.
