Things are about to get a whole lot quieter: Paramount has announced they’re working on a sequel to super suspenseful horror A Quiet Place.
If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ve probably heard more than whispers about A Quiet Place, which has grossed more than $213 worldwide since its US release on April 6.
Critically acclaimed, the film’s premise – a family attempt to survive in a crumbling world where creatures hunt guided only by sound – turns everyday chores into life-and-death situations. Led by real-life wife-and-husband Emily Blunt and John Krasinksi, who also directed the film, the family-of-five attempt to live while remaining absolutely silent, lest the creatures arrive within the minute.
The news of a sequel comes straight outta CinemaCon, a Las Vegas conference for movie studios to announce upcoming films to theatre owners across the US. Scriptwriters Bryan Woods & Scott Beck promised they had a lot of ideas to work with, but no further details were given.
At the moment, we don’t even know if John Krasinski will be returning to direct. Currently, he’s slated to direct sci-fi thriller Life On Mars, an adaptation of a short story by Cecil Castellucci about a woman living on an abandoned colony on Mars. You can read it here.
As for the sequel, may we suggest that it follows an IBS support group who attempt to both manage their bowel health and kill all the creatures, thereby being silent but deadly?
