John Krasinski will be back once again to direct the new instalment, although his character likely won’t make an appearance, for reasons obvious to anyone who has seen the first.

Blunt will return to play a mother trying to hold her family together in a world where people are hunted by deadly alien creatures that are highly sensitive to any noise.

Child actors Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are also set to return. Per a piece in The Hollywood Reporter:

“Details on the plot are being in a very quiet place but sources say that Murphy will play a man with mysterious intentions who joins the family unit.”

The film will start shooting later this year, with a May 2020 release date currently pencilled in.

In addition to Peaky Blinders, Cillian Murphy has featured in numerous Christopher Nolan films, including DunkirkInception and Batman Begins
