In today’s edition of Viral on Twitter, a text form an ex is doing wild numbers for either being extremely sweet or extremely batshit, or maybe both.
It begins with a woman, named Alexsa, receiving a text message from her ex-partner. Said ex-partner is getting married, he says it quite frankly in the first sentence of his message.
“I wanted to send you this message. (My fiancé knows I’m sending this to you),” he wrote.
Thank you for being my first love. Thank you for always encouraging me, thank you for keeping me out of trouble, thank you for the times you took care of me when I was sick, and depressed, thank you for loving me.
This is sweet, right? Maybe a little intense… but sweet.
If you haven’t already I hope you one day find love. If you loved me that much when we were young I can only imagine how strong and powerful your love is now.
Yeah, nah. Not a fan of this bit.
The bloke then proceeds to go on a bit about how big Alexsa’s heart is and how much their love still means to him. He also sent some kind words to “the man who is lucky enough to have you as their wife.”
My point in all of this is, you are the reason why I know how to love someone. You taught me love, you taught me how to deal with my anger, how to deal with my depression, and how to live life to the fullest and I’m grateful for you. I wish you love and happiness.

Despite being fully speechless at first, Alexsa did reply to her ex and was super appreciative of the message. She wrote that she was happy he was happy and wished him and his family “nothing but beautiful blessings.” And then he replied and it was all intense as hell, again.
On one hand, if my boyfriend – also my first big love – and I split up and he sent me this message I’d probably, maybe, think it was super sweet and mature of him and that’s that. Buttttttttt if this happened to my best mate and they showed me this very same text message, I’d 10/10 react with a big ol’ “nah, get fucked.” That pretty much sums up the replies on Twitter.Image: Forgetting Sarah Marshall
