Ariana Grande has dropped a full teaser trailer for the video clip for her break-up anthem ‘Thank U, Next‘, which is set to reference a whole stack of seminal teen films, from Mean Girlsand Bring It On to Legally Blonde and Suddenly 30.

The teaser trailer zeroes in on the Mean Girls connection, and features Aaron Samuels himself, Jonathan Bennett, actress Stefanie Drummond, Colleen Ballinger aka Miranda Sings, YouTuber Gabi DeMartino, and our very own Troye Sivan – with whom Grande collaborated for his single ‘Dance to This‘.

She takes that ‘Who’s Regina George?’ scene from Mean Girls and subs herself in, getting people like Bennett and Sivan, to spread doting rumours about her, that seem based on well, actual rumours about her.

Grande and her Saturday Night Live ex Pete Davidson broke up in October, after becoming engaged back in June.
Grande is currently mourning the tragic passing of her former partner Mac Miller, who she references on the track. She also namechecks exes Big Sean and her former backup dancer Ricky Alvarez.
