Adelaide, scrape together your church change for a cheeky little ice cream treat or two because Gelato Messina is popping up in your neighbourhood for a very short but delightfully sweet time over October.

Swinging into Rundle Mall for Vogue Festival, the much-loved Sydney gelati lords will be doling out scoops of their favourite flavs for three days from October 18-20.

Under the reflection of the city’s giant, shiny Malls Balls, Gelato Messina will be paying homage to the owners’ roots – who are born and raised in South Aus – with a couple of Adelaide-heavy treats; yep, they’re using cult-fave Farmer’s Union Iced Coffee in the menu with a very-yum-sounding FUIC gelato sundae.

As per Broadsheet, Gelato Messina will be bringing six of its famed flavours to the city of churches; salted caramel and white choc, pistachio praline, tiramisu, super dulce de leche, choc fondant, and strawberry sorbet, as well as mini versions of its gelato cakes, and a couple of very special, Adelaide-inspired sundaes.

It’s SO LITTLE I cannot cope.

The dessert kings are also whipping up a custom flavour for the weekend visit, called ‘Breakfast In Adelaide’, which features a fior di latte gelato with swirls of Nutella fudge, and crumbly yo-yo biscuits.

So keep an eye out for the sneaky little Gelato Messina van and/or makeshift store in the middle of the mall from mid-October, and get very keen to tuck into some of the east coast’s favourite icy sweets.
