An opportunistic 1-year-old has ordered three (3) onions while playing on her unsuspecting father’s phone.
There are many layers to this story. Let’s get to peelin’.
Dad Jamie shared screenshots of a Deliveroo order today, alongside the caption: “Let my one year-old daughter play with my phone and she ordered one onion on Deliveroo.” The tweet essentially shut down the cybersphere, amassing over 100k likes in under 24 hours.

There are many incredible facets within these images. The food status (“preparing your food”). The £13.50 small order fee in comparison to the £1.50 onion. The thought of the delivery driver handing over an onion. Oh yeah, and the fact the a 1-year-old nonchalantly ordered “Large Mild Brown Onions” from a supermarket.
Initially put off by the pricy cost of one onion, Jamie was delighted to receive a 3-pack. Stunning.
Update: turns out it was a pack of three so great value actually.

He then shared this extremely delightful image of his daughter, AKA the youngest documented owner of onions. She looks so damn content… which makes me believe she whole-heartedly knew what she was doing when pressing the order button. She’s a smart cookie.

What an eye-watering tale, in more ways than one.

Onions will do that to you.

Deliveroo eventually chimed in, offering the father some credit: “Hey Jamie, this is so sweet! We’d love to send you the rest of the ingredients for a meal and some deliveroo credit, please DM us and we can send this to you!”
“My cat just ordered like 4 dominos large pizzas,” Twitter user @designandbeyond then responded.
Same.
