Listen Up, District 12: The World’s First ‘Hunger Games’ Theme Park Is Open

The world’s first Hunger Games theme park has opened, and it’s the dystopian universe come to life. Who wouldn’t want to liven up a televised game of murder with a thrill-seeking rollercoaster? You need to get your thrills somewhere, dah-ling.

Opening in Dubai‘s Motiongate (a.k.a. the Disneyland of the United Arab Emirates), the park is chock full of easter eggs that fans of both the books and films will immediately be able to spot.

Want to experience all 12 Districts from the sky? Hop on board the Panam Aerial Tours (with a welcome from President Snow) and try to avoid the rebel attack. Want more of a thrill? Take a ride on the Capitol Bullet Train that, contrary to regular trains, features a vertical loop and a 90-degree reverse spike at some 80km per hour. Want to watch a fun game of child murder? See a therapist.

The park even includes new content featuring Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) and Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci), and of course there’s a food outlet called Peta’s Bakery.

The new Hunger Games world joins the growing list of franchises-turned-amusement-parks at Motiongate, including Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Toy Story, Shrek, Avatar, Cars, and soon to be Star Wars and Frozen.

Honestly? We’re going to also need a Game of Thrones, Walking Dead and Westworld park, stat.
