Negotiations Over A “Hunger Games” Theme Park Are In The Works

Capitalising on a priceless franchise while Jennifer Lawrence and everything she is associated with is still at an all-time premium, Lionsgate have hinted at the possibility of a Hunger Games theme park, because as the old saying goes, “Always read the book before going to the bastardised, cash muling amusement park of the same name.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said, “Let’s millk this mother for all it’s worth” “We have been approached in two different territories about potential theme park opportunities, which gives you a sense of the cultural impact of this franchise,” and added that, “We are excited about those opportunities and are pursuing them.”

The news comes as The Hunger Games, a ferocious story of kids fighting each other to death in an reality show broadcast to the millions of people populating the oppressive dystopian hell hole of Panem, has been piquing interest ever-exponentially, as the trailer for its second instalment, Hunger Games: Catching Fire has been released, Woody Harrelson looks anxious in its latest teaser and Jennifer Lawrence’s all-time, widespread adoration becomes searingly evident as her new haircut becomes (unashamedly) newsworthy

The obvious query about a potential Hunger Games theme park, however, is the degree to which the fanboy/girl’s dream will imitate the inherently bloody and fierce premise of the franchise – I mean, sure, you can’t spell “A Day For The Whole Family!” without “Death!” but that may be a questionable drawcard for those without the archery prowess of Katniss Everdeen. The last thing the Hunger Games theme park would want is a repeat of that time a Florida summer camp put on a Hunger Games-style challenge, only to have tweens reveal their violent tendencies by taking the game too literally and writing ominous signs that read “LOSING MEANS CERTAIN DEATH”; forcing the camp to change the vernacular of the game from “murdering” to “collecting lives”, bless.

In any case, whatever sprouts from a Hunger Games theme park, allowing visitors to live out their fan fiction dreams in District 12 — would visit.
