WATCH: Bronny ‘Helicopter’ Bishop Does Painful 20 Min Interview On Sky

Ah, Bronwyn Bishop. Beloved Bronny. Your fall from grace was a sight to behold. Most in your position would have dedicated their lives to quiet charity after that kind of ritual humiliation: kicked from the Speaker‘s chair, relegated to the backbench, then losing preselection.

But not you. You instead chose to take up an election commentary on Sky News. We got a taste of that last night, during an excruciatingly awkward interview with David Speers.
Basically, Speers was asking the question that everyone wanted to know: what the hell happened behind the scenes in that helicopter debacle? In the past, she mentioned that there was ‘more than meets the eye’ in that spectacle, but today she was keeping mum:

Considering how dramatically Sky promoted this interview, the awkward silence of Bronny completely refusing to answer a question she in the past promised might have a dramatic answer looks kinda naff. What did she talk about for 20 agonising minutes?
“I’m still very involved with things like the Sydney International Piano Competition, which is about to start on the 6th of July,” she said. “Thirty-two of the world’s best pianists coming to Australia.”

Fascinating. In true ‘ex-MP joining Sky News’ form, she also spent some time prosecuting ancient slights, and matter-of-factly stating that she would have won pre-selection in her seat of Mackellar had it gone to a plebiscite.

Perhaps Bishop should have gone into the good night instead of accepting a Sky News commentary gig. Here’s hoping she’s got more JUICY CONTENT when she actually takes up the throne.
