This has got to hurt.
Not only is Bronwyn Bishop‘s annual pay packet short $150,000 following her resignation as Speaker of the House of Representatives for ~ obvious ~ reasons [#choppergate], she now relegated to flying cattle class.
Bronnie was snapped mingling with the plebs on a domestic flight from Canberra to Sydney last night, presumably wondering what the hell she’s done to deserve such limited leg room.
There are two possible explanations for the rare sighting:
1) She’s putting on a show to validate her “error in judgement”.
2) Money is seriously tight rn because she’s repaying taxpayers the $6,000 she spent taking a luxury helicopter from Melbourne to Geelong to attend a Liberal Party fundraiser.
The internet isn’t buying either one, offering up several alternatives as to why she might have been spotted in economy, but still flown business.
The most LOLz of them include:
“She’s just checking out the chairs poor people sit in.”
“Bronny was a little slow in getting a business class seat.”
“Is she just disinfecting the seat?..”
The veteran Liberal MP is still under investigation by the Department of Finance for splurging thousands of taxpayer dollars on charter flights, limousine hire and attending the weddings of colleagues.
