Bronny Bishop’s V. Keen To Stay In Office, To ‘Fight Terrorism’ Apparently

The ARH Tiger is the Australian Army’s peak helicopter gunship. It’s kitted out with armour-piercing missiles and a 30mm cannon which is capable of turning baddies into a pink mist from over a kilometre away. They’re also $40 million a pop, so the hourly rental fees may be a touch exxy.

These may be important factors to note if you’re Bronwyn Bishop, who, according to The Age, told attendees at a Christmas shindig that she’s planning to recontest her seat in Mackellar in response to the “threat of terrorism.”

Put simply:

While it’s a noble goal, her claim may be a touch grandiose considering her reduced role for the Liberals, and one party attendee said “the terror stuff goes down well with [Liberal Party] preselectors but this talk of being exonerated on choppergate is losing some people in the party and the electorate.”
You got that right, bud.
After being ousted from her role as Speaker of the House, Bishop returned to her regular local duties after voting for Malcolm Turnbull in the spill, but apparently other local Liberal branches “massively have the shits with her” after she did the dirty on long-time supporter Tony Abbott. Aah, Auspol, shine on you crazy diamond.
FWIW, she’s been rusted on in Mackellar, representing the electorate since 1994. All of that changes when you take a needless chopper ride on the people’s dime, though.
