WATCH: A Redback Taking Down A Brown Snake Is Your Daily Dose Of ‘Straya

Australia is a dangerous, barren wasteland. Don’t ever think otherwise, even for a second.

Sure, you might go about your normal day-to-day life reasonably untouched. But always be aware that at any given moment, on average, people in Australia are closer to a spider or a snake than any other country in the world. Probably.
Luckily for us mere fleshy humans, the snake and spider populations are constantly at odds with one another; waging an ages-old war that shows no signs of slowing down.
Case in point, this footage of a baby brown snake attempting to seek refuge in a mechanics near the Victorian/NSW border, complete unaware that the mechanic is spider territory, with the arachnid forces sending sentry support to the building after the deal was struck.
The mechanic’s resident redback spider was captured going to town on the wee snek, which had become entangled in its web.
North Vic Engines Cobram posted the video as a warning to all other bastard snakes: Cobram is spiderland. Slither in at your own peril.

We had a visit today from a baby snake ??
Lucky our pet redback found it and killed it for us!

Some have questioned whether the snake was trapped naturally, or whether the curious protrusion on its neck was something more sinister and human-inserted. However the mechanics cleared that up a short while ago with footage of another snake that had wandered in and found itself suffering the same fate as its comrade.

For all the haters!
