Sophie Ellis-Bextor Is Doing Gigs With Her Kids On IG Live & It’s So Chaotic Yet So Wholesome

If you’re not watching Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Kitchen Disco gigs on IG Live, what are you even doing in iso?

The singer has turned her kitchen into a stage, putting on a live performance every week for just over a month, and it’s legit the most wholesome yet chaotic thing ever.

Bedazzled from head-to-toe, Ellis-Bextor bops around her kitchen dishing out banger after banger while her husband holds the camera.

Her kids make an appearance, too, dancing with their mum to songs they’d be too young to remember if they were anyone else’s kids. And honestly – between the fighting and playing and general hyperactivity – they have some moves.

In the fourth iteration of Kitchen Disco, Ellis-Bextor accidentally trod on her youngest son, Mickey. The 15- month-old can be seen scurrying around on the floor while the rest of the family vibe to the sounds of early-2000s nostalgia.

“We finally, really trod on the baby,” she said, before picking him up and continuing to belt out “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)”.

There’s also the time she had to physically stop him from pulling apart their router, mid-song. Nothing gets past Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

By now, her kids are all of our kids, and the internet knows each of them by name.

It also needs to be said that while Kitchen Disco sounds suspiciously like lip-syncing, that’s actually Ellis-Bextor’s real, live vocals. She’s really that damn good.

Whether it’s changing lyrics (“Take Me Home” becomes “Stay At Home”) or calling out to her kids mid-song, it’s impressive to realise just how pitch-perfect her voice still is.

To top it all off, she always finishes with the same song: “Murder on the Dancefloor”.

Kitchen Disco has become an iso ritual, attracting hundreds of thousands of viewers as she radiates good vibes from her kitchen to the whole world.

Her power. Her talent. Her kids!!!
