Cody Simpson Is Pumping Out Insta Poetry About Miley Like A Horny Rupi Kaur

Australian musician and all-purpose dude Cody Simpson is not only a prolific poet, but has written a lil’ screed fans have interpreted as a horned-up letter to his “baby” Miley Cyrus.

As pointed out by News.com.au, Simpson, who operates an Instagram poetry account under the nom de plume Prince Neptune, yesterday unleashed his newest batch of verse:

the moon’s souvenir
the boulevardier
a ballerina on the promenade

we open our curtains
to the domesticated world
for a natural hour
spinning elvis records
and making love
in the soft jewelled morning

While liking Elvis Presley is hardly a unique character trait, the fact that Simpson and Cyrus very recently sang a duet of Ku-Ui-Po lends credence to the theory that this one is directed at her.

So, that’s all well and good, but there’s much more to learn from the remainder of his account. Prince Neptune’s oeuvre focuses on surfing, the open water, the nature of consciousness, and how all of that relates to getting laid.

Just quietly, “i got a hard-on and swam” is abridged Tim Winton by way of Malibu. It’s Rupi Kaur, if she was motivated by nothing but the perfect barrel and the phenomenological power of getting lucky. He’s e.e. cummings, without the ‘e.e’.

It’s all a bit endearing, in the bro-iest of ways. You do you, Prince Neptune.
