Now that the whole Cody Simpson and Miley Cyrus is very much A Thing, the internet has been feverishly searching to figure out whether or not we should have seen this coming – and it turns out we probably should have. Cody’s had a fat ol’ crush on Miley since he was a kid.

Bless the internet for never, ever forgetting anything, because an interview with Cody from back in 2012 when he was the ripe age of 15 has surfaced, talking about life on tour, that time he had a figurine made in his likeness, and how Miley was his childhood crush.
Donning the earliest 2010’s gear I’ve ever seen: a brown Lacoste knit and a polo shirt underneath with the collar fully popped, the preppy blonde-haired Aussie darling admitted to knowing the lyrics to all her songs.
“Miley Cyrus has always been my childhood celebrity crush,” he said.
“I know all the words to her songs, I’m not going to lie–I’m not ashamed about it at all. I was a big Miley Cyrus fan and I think she will always be the most-dateable Disney star.”
If ‘most-dateable Disney star’ isn’t the most appealing compliment you could get off a 15-year-old blonde surfer-type then I don’t want to know what is. Am I right or am I right?
In some twist of fate and potentially sheer luck, Cody’s childhood celebrity crush has come to fruition after he’s been spotted smooching Miley – the two have been close mates for at least the last four years or so – and since her divorce with Liam Hemsworth and then split from Kaitlynn Carter, Miley and Cody have been spending a bunch of cuddly time together.
Cody even shared a video of the two of them snuggled up watching the Elvis classic, Blue Hawaii, with the two of them crooning along to ‘Ku-U-I-Po’.
Is this possibly the work of The Secret in action here? Have we just watched a young bloke from the Gold Coast speaking his dreams into existence and manifesting them?
Good on ’em, do what makes you bloody happy.
Mind you, it’ll be interesting what happens when it’s revealed that Cody’s the robot on Masked Singer, which he very obviously and clearly is. Will it impact this budding romance, right in the thick of the honeymoon phase? Does he wear the robot head at home? Maybe he does and it’s a sexy thing, and I simply must respect it.
