You’re all probably on the edge of your seat for Stranger Things season two, so hopefully this’ll tide you over until October 27. Netflix has dropped a deliciously retro Stranger Things game for iOS and Android – and it’s a pretty incredible production.
Looking like a long lost Super Nintendo classic, the game roughly follows the plot of the first season – with some tweaks to make it work better as a game. For example, I do not recall a scene in the original season where Hopper brawls with an owl. I did binge the show though, so in my delirium I might have missed it, sure.

The aesthetic is essentially perfect for this kind of tie-in. And it’s surprisingly good and deep for what could easily have been a throwaway bit of marketing. Is it quite as good as your SNES classics? Maybe not, but it’ll keep you occupied during the boring bits of work today, I promise you this.
