The second season of Stranger Things arrives on Netflix a few days before Halloween, and the streaming service is hoping that you remain stoked on its ’80s horror series, since it has already ordered a season three, with a fourth also likely.
Overnight, the official Stranger Things Twitter account shared a whole heap of retro-style posters for the new season, showing off old characters as well as new ones, most of them looking disturbed about some as-yet-unknown threat that will befall the town of Hawkins, Indiana.
What have we learned from the new posters? Well, for one, Millie Bobby Brown‘s Eleven is back, and she has hair now. There’s no sign of Shannon Purser‘s ill-fated Barb, but given her fan-favourite status, we wouldn’t put it past Netflix to sneak her into a flashback of some sort.
Maybe the twist this time is that Barb is the monster, coming back to wreak havoc on the town that didn’t care about her or notice her absence when she became monster food? WE’LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE.
Amongst the new cast members are Sadie Sink, who plays the “tough and confident” Max, and Dacre Montgomery, who plays her “hyper-confident” brother Billy. I feel like Netflix is trying to tell us something about these characters but I’ll be damned if I know what.
There’s also a poster for the new season:
Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buonob Matthew Modine, Noah Schnapp and Joe Keery will also return in the new season.
