The Nintendo Switch has sold exceptionally well so far. In fact, the company sold 2.74 million consoles worldwide in less than a month.
A massive part of that success can be attributed to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild being an incredible game. Because it is. But aside from that, it’s slim pickings for Nintendo fans thirsty for more content.
But that changes today, friends. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has dropped so you can lay waste to your friends on Rainbow Road once again.
Mario Kart 8 originally appeared on the Wii U, but the Deluxe version, apart from looking way prettier, adds some new game modes and characters to the mix.
There’s now a total of 42 characters to choose from, including newbies Bowser Jr., Dry Bones, Gold Mario, Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl and King Boo.
As well as two new courses and some returning favourites from the SNES days to hoon around on, Deluxe also adds some fancy new Battle Modes, items and vehicles.
Mario Kart 8 also introduces some rad new ways to race, like driving on the bloody walls or underwater. It’s a wild ride and the thought of playing it on the go is exciting as heck.
See you on the track, suckers, I shotgun Yoshi. Every. Fucking. Time.
