Look, everyone knows what it’s like to crack a smartphone screen. Anyone who says they’ve never cracked one is basically a huge liar, as far as I’m concerned.
One little teeny-weeny announcement that kinda slipped under the radar with all the new Apple shit is a slight tweak to the AppleCare+ extended warranty program. Now, if you crack your screen and you’re covered by AppleCare+, you can get the screen fixed up to two times at $45 a pop each. Previously, it was $99.
There’s a catch, though: it now costs $149 under AppleCare+ for any other kind of damage. So if you bend it to shit, you’ll be dropping more.
AppleCare+ itself costs $189, which is a hefty chunk of change, especially when you’ve signed up for a new contract or dropped big dollars on an outright phone, but if you’re the kind of person who regularly busts your device – we all know somebody like that – it might be worth the initial investment.
