Snapchat are today rolling out a new feature that allows you to create custom Stories with your mates. All of them.
They’ll behave similarly to regular Stories, only you’ll be able to invite a specific group of friends to contribute. Alternatively, you can drop a geofence where all friends and, if you like, friends of friends in that area can add to the action. These span roughly a block in circumference.
To create your own, just jump into the Stories page and tap the “Create Story” ( + ) icon at the top right of the page. Once selected, name that bad boy and select the friends you want to invite or place a geofence.
From there, just record some nonsense as per usual and the option to add to that story will appear when choosing recipients. You can create a maximum of three custom Stories at a time, but you can contribute to an unlimited number.
The story will remain there as long as you or your mates continue to add content to it, otherwise it will disappear after 24 hours. Individual snaps within the Story will disappear after 24 hours like your regular one.
It’s certainly a fun new way to create content with the app and will likely provide a small boost to Snapchat’s user base, which they’re absolutely gagging for after a lacklustre first earnings report.
Be prepared for Story geofences to start popping up at every birthday party, wedding and engagement party you attend for the rest of the year.
