Mama June (real name Shannon June) has been a part of our lives since 2012 when she shot to fame as Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson straight-shooting mom in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Child, a child beauty pageant reality TV series that was equal parts trash and cheese.
Panned by critics, the show was once described by The A.V. Club as “horror story posing as a reality television program.”
Regardless of this, many fell in love with the family’s deep fried, southern antics. Those fans will be fucken SHOOK by the following revelation: Mama June has lost weight. A lotta weight. With the help of gastric sleeve and skin removal surgeries, she’s dropped a whopping 68-70kgs.

Back in Feb, the Thompson daughters revealed that Mama June had to “stay in hiding” and wear disguises so she wouldn’t ruin the big weight loss reveal.
“It’s been really hard for her [to stay hidden], because my mama is not just a person who can stay in the house,” Alana told People.
Well done, Mama June. Well done.
